The Carmelite Library is a special theological library dedicated to study and research in the areas of Spirituality and Mysticism. The collection is unique within Australia. The Library is an affliated member of the Melbourne College of Divinity (MCD) and the first resource of the Institute for Christian Spirituality and Pastoral Formation (ICSPF).
The Library is housed in a spacious and handsome setting for study and reading purposes. Everyone is most welcome to visit the Library. Our policy is hospitality first.
The Library is situated in the Carmelite Hall, beside the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, at 214 Richardson Street, Middle Park. Please do not hesitate to contact us by phone (03 9682 8553) or email (librarian@carmelitelibrary.org) for any information about the Library and its services.
Opening Hours until Easter 2009 are:
Tuesday: 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
There are plans for new extended opening hours at the Carmelite Library, likely to commence sometime in April. Please check this website for updates.
